Diary of an MP: Hospitals, hot air balloons, and a heat wave

This week reminded me why I decided to leave industry and stand for Parliament in the first place. Back in the coalition years I was working with public sector clients and saw schools having to rip out their kitchens, libraries being closed, and hospitals unable to fix or maintain their buildings. It was austerity realised and it pushed me to get involved with politics, feeling that there had to be a better way to do things. We've started to see that better way in action in Northampton this week.
